Radiation

Radiation Skin Care.

I would like to say in regards to radiation skin care; follow your radiation oncologists directions.  I feel some of the reason my skin did well was because I did what I was told to do.

My radiation oncologist gave me a prescription for a cream called RadiaPlex.  I put the cream on every morning and every night, liberally.  The other thing the oncologist recommended was using a green tea preparation.  Boil 2 green tea bags in 1 cup of water, wait to cool, pour into a spray bottle.  Spray on irradiated skin once within 1/2 prior to treatment (that means before each treatment, for me it was everyday Monday thru Friday).  You will need to let it dry before putting your clothing back on.  Keep spray bottle (mixture) refrigerated.  Make new mixture weekly.  The green tea has antioxidants that is good for your skin.  Also, no shaving under the arm, no deodorant.  There are some all natural deodorants that I was allowed to use, Naturally Fresh was one of them.

This can be purchased at Walmart, Walgreens, Target, iherb, to name a few.
